Create your perfect look for summer

After a fairly damp and wet May we've had a glimmer of hope at the start of June with some warm, sunny weather. Perhaps we can finally get excited by our summer wardrobes and creative combinations we can put together.

Of course to blend in with this new look we'll be showing a bit more flesh so before we head to the beach or jet off on holiday there are a few things we need to take care of.

Local beauty salon owner, Laura Weston at West Kirby's Positive Touch took some time out to discuss this summer's latest trends.

Laura said, “Catwalk predictions point towards super stripes this summer. Not just the classic blue and white stripes, but big, bold and bright colours. For festival goers a return to the chic 1970's relaxed loose fitting crochet and easy hanging fringes have already made their mark this year.”

With so many colours, balancing this look with the right beauty products could be quite tricky.

Laura suggests the answer is quite simple, “By letting your clothes and nails do the shouting your face and legs should stay fairly natural and fresh. So don't over-do it with dark tan colours and remember to exfoliate and moisturise skin so you get an even tan all-over.

“As far as colours go, look around you for inspiration. Don’t be afraid to try new ideas. Golden summer sunsets, deep blue seas or summer flowers can be the beginning of an amazing new look.”
