Local beauty salon Positive Touch in West Kirby, Wirral, held its 10 year anniversary celebrations and set itself a challenge to complete 50 sets of Shellac nails in four hours!

An exhausted salon owner, Laura Bruce, was delighted to announce that the team managed to pull off the feat even if it was a little over the 4 hours set aside,

"This was such a fantastic event," she commented, "After starting off 10 years ago in a small beauty room in a small salon next to West Kirby station, to have a brilliant team in a huge salon over 2 floors all these years later is a great achievement. We wanted to mark this by doing something special for our clients, many of whom have been with us for the whole 10 years. So we set ourselves the challenge to give 50 clients a free set of Shellac nails in the brand new spring colours, only launched 9 days ago!"

The successful evening also combined support for other local businesses all run by local women.

Laura said, "Having built my beauty salon over the last 10 years I understand the hard work it takes and how important it is to receive support from friends, family and other businesses. During the event we had local cake maker from Hoylake, Melanie Passey who is just starting up in business and made the most fantastic cakes. Alison Blackler who runs 2Minds, which is a life coaching business, was there to talk to clients about how they can make positive changes in their life. We also had Marcia Ward who is an expert on semi-permanent make-up and Irene Ward from Aesthetics who was there to talk about line and wrinkle reduction treatments including Botox"

Laura was keen to thank everybody who took part in the event, "I would just like to thank everybody for their support and for making this such a special event and hopefully we'll all be back in another 10 years!"
